Sonam, 31, is also staying on Padavattaman Road, visiting her parents who have been living on that road in Chintadripet for many years.<\/p>\n The gym has become a valuable community facility for the neighborhood’s female residents, reducing the number of steps required to access the fitness space and providing significant health benefits. . The establishment of the gym, located in Ward 62 under the Greater Chennai Corporation’s Royapuram Zone, was made possible with funds allocated by the Municipal Councilor. The total cost of the project is Rs 46 million.<\/p>\n The facility is currently open from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. In the future, evening hours will be introduced, increasing the number of working women and students.<\/p>\n The gym is currently temporarily managed by corporate staff member Mr Muthamma. After finishing her morning work at the gym, she continues her day’s work at the district office. This arrangement will continue until a full-time caretaker is appointed. That means the gym door will be open even at night.<\/p>\n An average of 15 women use the service every day at a time that is convenient for them.<\/p>\n Gyms filled an important gap by providing neighborhoods with an accessible and private space for exercise.<\/p>\n Vinitha said women in the area used to mainly rely on walking at Mayday Park for physical activity.<\/p>\n Jennifer notes that the gym has added variety to her daily life. “Normally, we just walked. Stationary cycling brings a fresh vibe to our exercise routine,” she elaborates.<\/p>\n She added that to exercise outdoors, residents needed to start exercising early in the morning before the heat intensified. “To walk through Mayday Park, you have to go early before the sun gets too strong. There’s also a gym, so you have the option of working out a little later in the day.
