I spread them out three times a day,&#8221; she said during a recent appearance on Amy Poehler&#8217;s podcast. Kim also admitted that she suffers from pill fatigue. &#8220;I thought, &#8216;Okay, I can&#8217;t take this fish oil anymore. I have pill fatigue. I have to stop taking this fish oil.&#8217; [supplements]and I took a blood test and it was so obvious that I had to stop and start again. &#8220;I wish there was something like an intravenous drip that I could do every day, even on my way to work,&#8221; she added.<\/p>\n<h2>Will taking 35 different supplements a day do more harm than good?<\/h2>\n<p>Supplements can provide additional nutrition and help fill nutritional gaps, but taking 35 supplements a day may not be the safest approach. Excessive supplement use can cause harmful effects such as vitamin toxicity.&#8221; <strong>Dr. Souradeep Chowdhury, Associate Consultant, Internal Medicine, Medanta Hospital, Noida.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Chowdhury further explained that fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K can cause toxicity if taken in excess due to the body&#8217;s storage capacity. &#8220;Additionally, liver damage, kidney stones, digestive disorders, nerve damage, drug interactions, etc. can also occur from taking too much of a certain supplement. Taking a supplement because it&#8217;s trending or because a celebrity uses it can do more harm than good,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<h3>Health risks of overconsumption<\/h3>\n<h3>1. Vitamin toxicity<\/h3>\n<p>Overdose can cause serious complications such as kidney damage, liver damage, seizures, diarrhea, and even nerve damage.<\/p>\n<h3>2. Too many minerals<\/h3>\n<p>As with vitamins, overdosing on minerals can also cause serious damage. Using multiple dietary supplements together without consulting your doctor greatly increases the risk of overconsumption of certain nutrients,&#8221; recommends Dr. Chowdhury.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the initial consultation, experts recommend that it is essential to regularly report all prescription and non-prescription supplements to your doctor to gain knowledge of potential interactions with prescription medications. &#8220;It&#8217;s also very important to make sure that any supplements you wish to purchase are from reputable manufacturers, and that they don&#8217;t assume that taking more of the supplement is better,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, you should reevaluate the supplements you take on a regular basis to assess whether you still need them.
